“Green” Furniture

Green has many definitions besides being a color (one of my personal favorites.) Green also means sustainable. So what is sustainable furniture?
Sustainable furniture is made with the concept of being eco-friendly which means protecting and preserving the environment and our natural resources. The kind of materials sustainable furniture is made of include bamboo, rattan and abaca. These types of plants grow extremely fast and are able to quickly replenish themselves. Cutting them down actually promotes incredible regrowth.
A few months ago, I was approached by a manufacturer of bamboo bath towels who asked if I would be interested in carrying their products. After researching the company and the benefits of these eco-friendly bath towels, I was inspired to seek out more "green" products to add to our inventory.
We are pleased to welcome Padama’s Plantation as our newest supplier of green home furnishings. Padama’s Plantation is a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, which encourages continuous improvements in corporate and industry practices that progressively move towards sustainable products. Their unique furniture designs bring nature indoors, with the look and feel of a tropical island resort. They have been featured in several magazines such as Home Fashion, Home, Coastal Home and Furniture Style.
We all share the responsibility of protecting the environment and our natural resources. Supporting companies like Padama’s Plantation that use environmentally safe methods and renewable resources, helps promote the cause of protecting the world we live in. Take a look at our new "green" furniture and see how beautiful "going green" can be!
